Beshara to visit Damascus

Israeli Knesset member Azmi Bishara, who is also chairman of the Democratic National Coalition party in Israel, headed on Sunday to Syria via Cairo for a three-day visit at the invitation of Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa.

In a statement to the Israeli radio Bishara said his visit aims at exchanging views on the dimensions of the peace process, especially on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks as well as evaluating the Israeli government policy towards the peace process. It is, however, the third visit Bishara held to Damascus during the two past years.
