British understanding for Lebanese, Syrian tracks cohesion

Originally published

Lebanese Foreign Minister Fares Boueiz on Thursday received a message from British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook, delivered by the British ambassador to Lebanon and relating to developments in the Middle East peace process.

Following the meeting, the British ambassador said the message partially expressed the hope of attaining progress on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks in the peace negotiations with Israel.

He asserted that Britain continues its efforts to achieve genuine progress on the two tracks. The British ambassador stated that Britain understands the Lebanese position, which provides for cohesion between the two tracks and understands the Lebanese demand that the two tracks have to be launched simultaneously.
