Morocco wants sustained development to reduce unemployment
Moroccan Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi said Morocco is endeavoring to achieve a sustained and constant development that will help reduce unemployment.
In an interview with Egyptian paper "Akhbar Al Youm" published Saturday, the prime minister said since he was appointed (last March), he has been working on unemployment, adding that it was impossible for the state to hire the considerable number of young graduates, so the government and businessmen reached a formula to find jobs for a part of this group. He added that the increase of investments and the consolidation of business circles' trust will generate jobs and curb unemployment.
He went on that the government will hold next month a national colloquy on unemployment to devise an adequate strategy.
Asked whether Morocco drew any profit from the relations between his party, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces, and other socialist parties ruling in some European countries, he expressed pride that these relations are reflected positively on Morocco.
"Our government (a socialist-led coalition) enjoys the support of these parties and governments and we could see that during the visits we paid to these countries," Youssoufi said.
