A dispute in Al Azhar with an Iranian delegation

Tension prevailed in a meeting between Al-Azhar Sheikh Mohammed Sayed Tantawi and members of an Iranian information delegation currently visiting Egypt, as Tantawi expelled one of the delegation's members from his bureau.

Unusually, Al-Azhar did not release any statement after the meeting, which lasted for only 15 minutes, during which Tantawi spoke about the role of Al-Azhar in serving the issues of Islamic states and enhancing relations between Moslems.

One of the delegation's members said the meeting was greatly strained when one of the members sat with her legs crossed, where Tantawi asked her to sit straight. She refused and said she is sitting normally and she doesn't mean to abuse him personally, so Tantawi expelled her from the bureau.
