Satterfield: US is concerned with achieving peace in the region
The US ambassador to Lebanon, David Satterfield, has announced that the US is concerned with achieving peace on all tracks in order to deal with the question of south Lebanon and peace in general and between Lebanon, Syria and the Palestinians on the one hand and with Israel, on the other.
In a televised statement in Lebanon on Sunday, the US ambassador added that the US hopes to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East and is looking forward to a "different Middle East, hoping that it will be attainable."
The past years achieved genuine progress in rehabilitating the state's institutions, he said. "We are looking forward to working with the new Lebanese government and with the Lebanese people so they would be able to proceed with their efforts and progress."
