Israeli shells woods of Sujoud al-Raihan and Aqmata farm
The Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday continued their aggressions against areas adjacent to the occupied part of South Lebanon and its Western Bekaa.
Lebanese security sources said occupation artillery positioned in al-Eshieh and al-Mahmoudeyah areas bombarded on Wednesday the woods of Sujoud al-Raihan and Aqmata farm in al-Tuffah district. The bombardment was in conjunction with intensive action by Israeli war-planes over al-Nabateyeh and al Tuffah.
Meantime, the Western Bekaa areas on Tuesday night witnessed Israeli military escalation of the fighting. Enemy war- planes flew at a low altitude dropping thermal balloons to avoid Lebanese anti-air craft missiles, based at Lebanese army positions in the Western Bekaa. The occupation artillery pounded the outskirts of the "Berket al-Jabbour," Tel al-Rehay at Abi Rashid woods for 15 minutes. The Israeli bombardment covered Tel al-Maramel hills, located to the south-west of Ein al-Tineh town, where 155mm shells landed. The enemy bombardment was in conjunction with a large mopping up operation, carried out by members of the pro- Israeli Lahd militia. The militia based in its advanced positions on the Western Bekaa targeted Maidoun woods; al-Litani river area and the outskirts of al-Jabbour and Abu Rashid.
Meanwhile, Lebanese national resistance fighters on Wednesday attacked an Israeli military force near al-Debshe position. In a statement, the resistance said the force was directly hit by its members. The statement added that the resistance fighters also attacked Israeli military reinforcement in the surrounding of Sweida position. Earlier, Lebanese patriots rocketed and machine-gunned a joint Israeli-Lahd militia force near the positions of Beer Klab and Sujoud in South Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli occupation troops shelled the Habboush-Arab salim road and the flow of al-Zahrani river. The shelling also hit al-Rafee mountain and the woods of Sojoud al-Kihan in al-Tuffah district. Furthermore, the Israeli military war-planes carried out several raids over the heights of al-Tuffah district as well as Sujoud town and its surroundings.
