On Jordanian detainees in Syria

The Jordanian weekly al-Sabil reported that Jordanian Information Minister Naser Joudeh has refrained from answering a question concerning his country's position if Jordanian detainees held in Syrian jails are released through former chairman of the Jordanian Engineers Union Leith Shbeilat.

One journalist put a direct question to Joudeh in this respect following a press conference the minister held last week.

The paper noted that Jordanian political sources expressed regret over the Jordanian media's exaggeration of the investigation made by the Syrian security forces into Jordanian engineers Mousa Hantach and his colleague, Riyadh Abu Hazim, while traveling to Beirut via the Syrian border.
