18 US company representatives to accompany US secretary on Africa trip
Representatives from 18 companies will join US Secretary of Commerce William Daley on a trip to Africa to seek trade and investment opportunities, The US Information agency announced quoting the Commerce department.
The US "Presidential Business Development Mission" will visit South Africa, Kenya and Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) from November 30 to December 7.
"In December, I will return to Africa for the third time this year with the goal of increasing trade and investment," Daley said in a news release, "I look forward to building a more prosperous commercial relationship between our two countries."
Daley was initially set to visit the three sub-saharan African countries in September but that visit was postponed after the attacks against US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
The release said the mission will focus on telecommunications, information technology, computers and software, agribusiness, power generation, health care, consumer goods, environmental technologies and general infrastructure.
