France proposes assistance for return of illegal immigrants from Morocco
The French government decided Wednesday to adopt additional measures to help illegal immigrants return to their country, by offering them training and helping them find jobs in their country.
The measure will be first applied for Moroccan, Malian and Senegalese nationals living illegally in France and will be extended to other nationalities, according to a statement of the French ministers council, Map reported.
The French government further promises to these former illegal immigrants a free-movement visa once evidence is produced that they are well integrated in their home societies.
Moroccans were the largest foreign community which applied for legal residence documents and only 11.2 percent of those who obtained legal documents were Moroccans.
According to some non-official statistics, there are between 5,000 to 8,000 Moroccans who were denied legal stay documents in France.
French minister of employment and solidarity, Martine Aubry, who was the sponsor of this law, will visit Morocco next December 4 to explore branches where these former illegal residents can be recruited and orient the proposed training program accordingly.
