El-Baz: Egypt will not abandon peace

In a meeting with Egyptian university students yesterday, the political advisor of the Egyptian president, Osama El-Baz, confirmed that it is not in Egypt's interest to provoke the Palestinians, saying that the Egyptian role calls for defending justice and stability in the region by peaceful means and that this role is just as coordinator to help the Palestinians restore their rights.

Moreover, El-Baz said the recent agreement between Palestinians and Israelis is just an understanding note for what was agreed upon previously, yet this agreement indicates the possibility and negativity of the implementation according to good or bad intentions.

El-Baz called for negotiations between Israel, Lebanon and Syria and said the US could guarantee the implementation of the recent agreement.
