Gaddafi threatens to withdraw from the UN

Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi directed a message yesterday to United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan in which he said that the Security Council no longer has the right to prolong the sanctions imposed on his country. He added that the International Court of Justice has previously issued a resolution that the council must not regard the case. The Libyan president warned that if the council went on in this direction, Libya will seriously consider withdrawing from UN and will be followed by many countries.
