Originally published

Libyan television on Tuesday said that Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gaddafi received on Tuesday Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa.

The report stated that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak sent Moussa to Tripoli at the head of "a high-ranking" delegation in the course of bilateral consultations on updated issues, especially developments in the Great Lakes region of Africa.

The Libyan television report added that these consultations also fall in the context of the Libyan presidency of the coalition of the African coastal and desert countries and the role of peace process coordinator played by President Gaddafi.

The coalition includes Libya, Sudan, Chad, Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali. Both Tripoli and Cairo are conducting joint mediation in Somalia. They proposed equipping police teams for the new joint administration in Makadishu.
