Palestinian official: No secret articles in Wye-Plantation agreement

The head of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Ahmed Qrei, announced yesterday after his discussions with Ahmed Fathi Srour, the Egyptian parliament's head, that the Palestinian people greatly oppose militias inside Palestine or any authority that competes with the Palestinian government.

Qrei said the government enjoys the great confidence of Palestinian people and the respect of the Palestinian opposition, saying that the government supports legislative multiplicity.

Concerning reports that Palestinian Presiden Yasser Arafat may resign, Qrei stated that this has nothing to do with truth, asserting that Arafat is managing and confronting the matter.

Qrei also denied that there are any secret articles in the Wye Plantation agreement, saying that there is nothing except the articles stated in the agreement.

On the other hand, Qrei refused to reveal the Palestinian security plan presented by the Palestinian national authority according to the agreement.
