Egyptian Sudanese strategic cooperation to preserve Nile's water

Originally published

Egypt sent technical experts today to Kenya and Tanzania to participate in implementing water projects there, in addition to sending experts and aid to Uganda to implement the project of establishing Kalagla dam, an electricity-generating station, and digging deep wells at cost of $8.5 million.

An Egyptian diplomat emphasized that there is a Sudanese - Egyptian agreement on a strategy for water projects which is separate from any bilateral issues and disputes.

Egypt rejected any Sudanese suggestion concerning the Egyptian confiscated properties (by Sudan), that would deprive Egypt of its right to possession, but the diplomat expressed Egypt's readiness to discuss any suggestions after the properties are restored to Egypt.
