Iran starts maneuvers on border with Afghanistan

Iranian military maneuvers are starting today on the borders with Afghanistan after quiet that lasted a few weeks.

These maneuvers were first announced in September when tensions increased between Iran and Afghanistan was killed when forces from the Taleban movement invaded Mazar Sharif city in northern Afghanistan.

Official sources said that tensions between Iran and Afghanistan were eased after the United Nations' mediation, but Iran still insists on blaming Taleban officials for the murder of several Iranian diplomats during the invasion and on punishing them.
