Cyprus voices concern over Turkish cooperation with Israel
Cypriot Foreign Minister Yanakis Kasolidis has expressed his country's concern over Turkish - Israeli military cooperation. "We will remain concerned. We are not the only ones who think that balance in the region should not be changed in favor of this side or the other side," he stated.
In a statement to the French News Agency on Sunday, Kasolidis continued: " We expect the Israeli prime Minister Ezer Weizman, who will, on Monday, start an official visit to Nicosia to say that " we should not feel concerned." Within the same context, Speaker of the Cypriot Parliament Kebreyano said that " no body can ignore the fact that Israel provides Turkey with advanced technology concerning weapons."
He added that he is not satisfied with the Israeli assurances concerning its military cooperation with Turkey.
