Morocco's large projects attractive to Siemens
The German Siemens information systems group expressed "keen interest" in some large projects in Morocco.
Among the projects that look attractive to Siemens, Henrich Pierer, Siemens president and managing director cited the extension of the telecom sector, transport technique-related projects, the Casablanca subway and construction of power-generating plants.
Henrich Pierer told the Moroccan television channel 2M that Morocco is a key country in matters of business. He expressed confidence that the government will help his group invest in Morocco.
Pierer was received by Moroccan Crown Prince Sidi Mohammed, and conferred with Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi.
Talks focused on Morocco's economic development efforts, especially in job-generating projects as well as the prospects of developing Siemens' investments in Morocco.
Siemens Nixdorf information systems, one of the major foreign investors in Morocco, was installed in 1978 in Morocco with a capital of 20 million dirhams (roughly $2.2 million).
