Algerian judges continue strike
As a protest against the information campaign which was targeted at the judicial authority, Algerian judges decided to remain on strike for three days starting on Monday.
A statement issued by the Judges' Union said the French-language newspaper al-Watan and other newspapers slandered the judicial body and alleged that 80% of the members of this body is made up of Islamic, resurrection believers. The reports also said that the Algerian judicial system is inefficient in understanding laws, within a campaign aimed at questioning the credibility of the Algerian courts.
Algerian Minister of Justice Mohammed Adami resigned last week to be free to lodge a judicial claim against some of newspapers that launched a severe campaign against him during September.
