Tunisia renews solidarity with Libya
Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Benali renewed Thursday his country's solidarity with Libya and attachment to a negotiated and honorable solution to the Lockerbie issue.
This came during a meeting on Thursday in Tozeur, 450 km south-west of Tunis, between the Tunisian president and the Libyan leader who has just ended a four day "rest and friendship" visit to Tunisia. President Benali wished that the embargo enforced against the Libyans will be lifted.
The two north African heads of state reviewed means of consolidating bilateral cooperation and hailed the evolution of consultation and dialogue between the two countries.
Both Tunisia and Libya are member of the Arab Maghreb Union "UMA" which also includes Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania.
