Arab social welfare bodies meet in Morocco

Marrakesh is playing host this October 20-23 to the 9th congress of Arab social welfare bodies that are discussing means of promoting social and medical coverage in the Arab states.

The meeting is to finalize a project on an Arab strategy for the promotion of national social security systems in the frame of complementarity and balance between the economic and social aspects of development.

Participants are equally debating the negative effects of economic reforms on social insurance regimes as well as the problem of employment. They will discuss means of coordinating stands at the general assembly of the international conference of social welfare associations due in Marrakesh this October 25 through 30.
