Resistance forces escalate attacks against Israeli troops

Originally published

Lebanese resistance forces on Tuesday attacked two Israeli military positions and the pro-Israeli South Lebanon Army in the eastern sector of occupied south Lebanon.

In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said a group of its fighters attacked the Abu Qamha and al-Ahmadieh positions, and direct hits were achieved.

The statement added that the attack was in retaliation for the Israeli attacks on Monday against the citizens of Mekkeyya village in the western Bekaa. Earlier in the day, a resistance group attacked, using rockets and machine guns, SLA positions in Salaa in the central sector.

In another statement, the resistance said that a 15-minute confrontation erupted between the Lebanese resistance forces and the Israeli-allied militia manning the position. A number of pro-Israeli militia were killed or wounded.

The statement went on that on Tuesday at dawn the Lebanese resistance also attacked an Israeli military position at Haula hill Toulin, in the Zouter al-Hamra area and the area around the Litani river.

Meanwhile, pro-Israeli militia, using heavy machine guns, attacked a civilian car in Memis town, in the western Bekaa. The driver escaped injury despite the fact that the car windshield was completely destroyed.
