Welch - Kurd agreement

US Assistant Secretary of State for the Near East David Welch said yesterday that the US-brokered agreement between two Iraqi Kurdish factions has the primary goal of regional security, saying, "We do believe that the security of everyone in the area is better if there is a basic understanding between the two principal Kurdish parties in northern Iraq, and that includes the security of Turkey."
