Egyptian FM: Peace process deadlock creates atmosphere of frustration

Originally published

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa announced today that the frustration that resulted from the peace process deadlock is behind the attack in which two explosions took place in a main bus station in Beersheba city in southern Israel, due to which 64 Israeli citizens were injured.

Moussa also said that as long as the problem continues, the frustration will lead to the creation of an climate where these incidents will occur.

He expressed his hope that the Beersheba explosion will not cause the deterioration of the peace process, especially because the Wye Plantation discussions have reached their final stages, and are passing through a critical moment, yet he said Egypt hopes to reach an acceptable result.

Meanwhile, The spiritual leader of Hamas, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, denied the involvement of the Hamas movement in yesterday's explosion at Beersheba, targeting a bus station in Beersheba, resulting in the injury of 64 Israelis, including 25 soldiers.

Meanwhile, Yassin said the movement is committed to the implied agreement ratified with the Palestinian government to halt violent operations, aimed at reaching an agreement on a final solution between Palestine and Israel.
