Sources in the Islamic Salvation Front said today that Algerian security forces arrested yesterday the leader El-Sayed Abdul Qader Bu Khamkam, clarifying that the security forces informed the leader of the importance of attending the session of his trial before the court in Kassartia in eastern Algeria.

The Algerian authorities released Bu Khamkam in 1994 after having arrested him along with the other leaders of the Islamic Salvation Front in June 1991.

Meanwhile, Algerian sources said that security forces are preparing to attack more than 70 Islamic extremists who are besieged on a mountain northeast of the capital, where soldiers are ready to attack the hiding place within the coming hours.
