Tunisia hosts workshop on food treatment by radiation
A five day-workshop on food treatment by radiation starts here on next Monday, under the sponsorship of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA), the food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the international atomic energy Agency (IAEA).
Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reports, quoting a statement of AAEA, that experts from 14 Arab states and representatives from worldwide atomic energy agencies will take part in the workshop.
Experts from FAO and the IAEA will deliver lectures on coordination of legislations on treating foodstuffs with radiation to decontaminate and to prolong storage life-time of the food items.
This workshop is very important for being correlated with easing trade in foodstuffs worldwide, KUNA noted.
