The Israeli occupation forces on Thursday renewed its attacks against areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon, especially al-Tuffah. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli artillery bombed the woods of Sujoud al-Rayhan, al-Rafee mountain, Aqmata farm, Lweizeh heights and the Litani river area.

The Israeli artillery attacks coincided with heavy machine gun fire which targeted roads linking al-Tuffah district to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources added that the bombardment also coincided with vast mopping-up operations, targeting Meimas crossing and al-Daher mountain.

For its part, the Lebanese resistance on Thursday afternoon attacked the occupation position in Sujoud in the occupied part of south Lebanon. In a statement, the resistance said a group attacked Sujoud position, and the attacks resulted in destroying the main fortifications of the northern side of the position.

Meanwhile, the April Understanding Monitoring Committee members will meet at the beginning of next week at the headquarters of UNIFIL in the Lebanese border town of Naqoura.

The group will discuss a Lebanese complaint against Israel's bombardment of Barachit town, causing damage to several houses in the town.

The committee will also study an Israeli complaint in which the occupation forces claim that the Lebanese resistance opened fire inside a residential area in Barachit against the Israeli occupation forces.
