UN Regional Conference on Space Held in Rabat end of October

The United Nations regional conference for Africa and the Middle East on space exploration and peaceful usage will be held in Rabat this October 26-30.

Experts from more than 60 African and Arab countries, space agencies and international organizations will debate issues related to environment, natural resources and natural disasters, communication and navigation systems, small satellites and space usage, and education and cooperation.

The UN general assembly had decided in 1997 to hold in Vienna in July 1999 the third international conference on space exploration and peaceful usage

. It was also convened to hold regional conferences to prepare for this venue: a meeting in Malaysia for Asia, in Chile for Latin America and in Morocco for Africa and the Middle East.
