Algerian President Liamine Zeroual is continuing his consultations with Algerian political parties about the presidential elections that are to be held at the beginning of the coming year to choose a new president to replace Zeroual, who decided not to finish his term.

Diplomatic sources told ArabicNews.com today that the meeting will comprise leaders of the legitimate parties that are not represented in the parliament to consult on the circumstances of the coming presidential elections.

Among the people invited are Reda Malek, former prime minister and the chief of the Republic National Alliance, and Noureddine Boukrouh, the head of the Algerian Renewal Party.

Zeroual held similar discussions in last week with 8 political parties represented in the parliament, which is comprised of 380 seats.
