Continued Israeli attacks against south Lebanon
Israeli occupation forces on Sunday bombed the areas of al-Tuffah district and the western Bekaa. Lebanese security reports said that an Israeli position in al-Zafatta shelled Jabaa, Safe mountain, al-Rafee mount, Aqmata farm, Sujoud woods and al-Rayhan and the Litani river areas.
The report added that Israeli artillery positioned in Abu Qamha targeted the towns of Mashghara, Ein al-Tineh, Barket al-Jabbour, Maidoun and Abu Rashid mount in the western Bekaa.
Israeli warplanes launched mock raids over wide areas of the south, while two planes broke the sound barrier over the capital, Beirut.
In retaliation, Lebanese resistance forces attacked a pro-Israeli South Lebanon Army position in the town of Ein Majdalin. A vehicle and a bulldozer were destroyed, according to a statement released by the resistance.
On Saturday, Israeli occupation forces continued attacks against areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. The Israeli occupation troops renewed attacks inside the occupied border strip, foremost in the al-Tuffah district.
Lebanese security sources said the Israeli artillery positioned in al-Zaffata and al-Asheyee shelled Lwizeh, Mleta towns and al-Rafee mountain hills, the Litani river area, Sujoud, Aqmata and al-Rayhan farms. The bombardment was accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire aimed at mountainous roads, the sources added.
Meanwhile, Israeli jet fighters launched mock air-raids, at low altitudes, over Nabatieh and al-Tuffah district areas and were repelled by Lebanese army anti-aircraft guns.
