Cairo refuses judicial claim banning imports of satellite receivers

Egyptian courts refused to accept a claim that would ban the import of satellite television reception systems.In the claim, the lawyer demanded a ban on receiving satellite broadcasts and removal of all satellite apparatus from Egyptian houses. The claim referred to the content of the programming broadcast by the satellites, which, he said, threatens the customs and traditions of the Egyptian family.

The claim in the court of Egyptian administrative judiciary was raised by an Egyptian lawyer against the ministers of information and interior affairs.
