Iraqi minister of health arrives in Cairo

Iraqi Minister of Health Medhat Mubarak arrived in Cario at the official invitation of Egyptian Minister of Health Ismail Salam. This is the first time an Iraqi official of this level has visited Cairo at the official invitation of an Egyptian official.

Previously, Iraqi ministers had attended ministerial meetings at the Arab League, then they convened meetings with Egyptian officials on the sidelines of their participation in the AL meetings.

The two ministers will discuss ratifying contracts for exporting medicines and medical equipment to Iraq within the oil-for-food agreement.

The Iraqi minister will visit Egyptian factories that manufacture medicines.

The two ministers will discuss the possibility of treating sick Iraqi citizens in Cairo. During his visit to Iraq earlier this year, the Egyptian minister (who is a doctor) performed several operations.
