Originally published

The committee on Egyptian political parties' affairs refused last week the establishment of a new party, the Egyptian party El-Wassat.

Expressing the reasons for the refusal, the committee said the party's program did not present anything new that can distinguish it from other current parties.

This is the second failed attempt to establish the party. On the other hand, the head of the party, Abu El-Ola Mady said: "We are not expressing the Moslem Brotherhood, so it is a legal project," stating that the party aims at enhancing and the Arab nation's role and decreasing the supremacy of the country's role."

He said that Egyptian political programs need renovation and new parties where the establishment of parties has to be easy, without any obstacles.
