Al-Khazin to nominate himself for Lebanese presidency
Lebanese parliamentarian Rashid al-Khazin has asserted he will nominate himself for the Lebanese Presidency. He added he has a work program he will announce within the few coming days.
In a statement to the Saudi daily Okaz published in Riyadh on Saturday, al-Khazin said "I am a Maronite Parliamentarian of a big popular base, for a big political family. Therefore my nomination for the presidency is natural. There is no maneuvering nor a political game in that. " On his views in amending article 49 of the Lebanese constitution, which if amended commander of the Lebanese army Emil Lahoud will come to power after his nomination to the presidency, al-Khazin said "I am not only for amending article 49 of the Lebanese constitution, rather with canceling it, away from any political condition."
About his best candidate in case he will not be elected, al-Khazin noted that there are "many friends with whom, we share common stances."
