Jordan to establish Jordanian national company for water

Jordanian Minister of Water and Irrigation Hani al-Mulqi said that invitations had been circulated to more than 50 local and foreign companies to take part in a meeting to be held on October 17, to discuss the project to set up the Jordanian national company for water.

During his meeting Saturday in Amman with several economic activists, al-Mulqi added that more than 25 different companies agreed to attend the meeting. He explained that the Jordanian government intends, with the participation of local and foreign private sectors and through the proposed water company, to carry out several strategic projects.

Among the most important of these projects is the al-Debsi water project, south of Amman.
