Iraqi prime minister to visit United States

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz will visit New York to hold talks with United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan on the differences over inspections of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction weapons, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Said al-Sahaf announced yesterday.

Iraq doesn't have any details about United Nations proposals to address the problems between the Iraqi government and UN weapons inspectors, al-Sahaf said.

UN spokesman Fred Eckhard said the meeting between Aziz and Annan will take place on Monday.
