Saeb Erekat demands to be replaced

Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator, officially demanded today that Palestinian President Yasser Arafat remove him (Erekat) from his post. Palestinian sources said today that this request came in protest over the opening of another negotiation channel with Israel with the leadership of Ahmed Qrei, the chairman of the Palestinian Legislative Council.
