Originally published

Two Israeli soldiers were killed and another three wounded in an operation carried out on Tuesday at dawn against an Israeli on foot patrol in the surroundings of the Litani river near Deir Seryan town.

Earlier in the day, the Lebanese resistance announced that an explosive charge was detonated against the Israeli patrol. Direct hits were achieved. The Israeli occupation forces said two soldiers were killed and the other three wounded as a result of their patrol crashing at the same site, just a few hours after the implementation of the resistance operation.

Meanwhile, Lebanese resistance forces attacked the Israeli occupation troops' positions in the al-Jamouseh, Rashaf and Beit Yahoun areas in the occupied strip of south Lebanon, using machine guns and rockets.

The attack resulted in direct hits on the enemy positions. The Lebanese resistance also successfully detonated an explosive charge against an Israeli foot patrol in the Litani river area.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes attacked the Litani river area near Yahmour town in the central sector of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the planes were intercepted by Lebanese army's anti-aircraft missiles. The sources did not mention any casualties.

The Israeli occupation forces also continued attacking Lebanese areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli shelling covered al-Sawannah area, the outskirts of the towns of Zouter East, Zouter West, Hadatha, Haris, Yater Serbein valley and the Litani river area.

Lebanese security sources said the Israeli bombardment covered the hills of al-Qatrani mountain, the outskirts of the al-Sarira and al-Hamra farm areas, Yahmour's outskirts and neighboring areas.

Israeli helicopters carried out mopping up operations, using machine gun fire against the area extending between al-Sarira and al-Qatrani.
