UN fund trains Moroccan journalists in handling population issues

Originally published

The UN Fund of Population Activities signed Thursday in Rabat a cooperation accord with the Moroccan communication department for the training of Moroccan journalists in matters of population and development issues.

Under the accord, the UN fund will finance training sessions for Moroccan journalists and contribute to a study on the situation of Moroccan women.

The UN fund said recently that it is planning to finance a $19 million social development program to benefit the lower social layers in Morocco.

The five-year program will help Morocco combat illiteracy, improve women's health conditions and sustain lodging programs for low-income households.
