Lebanese resistance carries out operations against Israeli troops

Originally published

Lebanese resistance forces Thursday carried out a series of operations against the positions held by Israeli and South Lebanon Army forces in the occupied part of the western and central sectors of south Lebanon.

The operations came in retaliation for the escalated Israeli aggressions against the Lebanese villages in the south. In a statement the resistance said one of its groups attacked a SLA position in al-Qasir. The resistance forces carried out a 20-minute battle with personnel at the position, and the confrontation resulted in achieving direct hits and destroying the position's frontal fortifications.

Another resistance group monitored armored Israeli reinforcements inside al-Hardoun position. The resistance men attacked the position and were able to achieve accurate hits.

Resistance forces also carried out successive attacks against the occupation positions in Balat, Salaa and Sweida. Lebanese security sources said the resistance men clashed with personnel at these positions. Direct hits were scored.

An Israeli armored vehicle was also hit in an ambush planted by resistance forces on the road to Beer Klab position.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces escalated their attacks against villages adjacent to the borderline in the western and central sectors of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli artillery shelled intensively on Thursday the villages of al-Ghandourieh, Qarroun, Toulin, Qabriha, Majdal Suloum, and the valleys of al-Qeseih, al-Salawqi and al-Hajir in the central sector.

The Israeli attacks also covered several villages in the western sector, foremost being the outskirts of al-Mansouri, Majdal Zoun, Zibqin, Kafra, Yater and al-Assai and al-Nafha valleys. The Israeli bombardment coincided with intensive flights by Israeli warplanes over the western and central sectors, carrying out mock raids against the targeted areas.
