UN chief confers with Iraqi deputy premier

United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan held talks with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz concerning a full revision of Iraq's implementation of UN resolutions and the situation in Iraq. An official at the UN was quoted as saying that Annan also discussed the full revision of Iraq's implementation of UN resolutions in a meeting with representatives of the UN Security Council's five permanent member states. The UN official expected Annan to submit to members of the UN Security Council a written proposal within a week concerning Iraq.
