Libya demands investigation of former British foreign minister

Originally published

Libya officially called yesterday on the British government to allow a Libyan investigator to question Malcolm Rifkind, the former British foreign minister, concerning plans to assassinate Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi. The Libyan authorities delivered the demand to the Italian ambassador in Libya, whose country sponsors British interests there.

This comes after a former British intelligence officer announced the approval of his country's former foreign minister toward a plan made by the intelligence to assassinate Gaddafi.
