Syrian - Jordanian meeting in Damascus

The Jordanian daily al-Rai published in Amman on Sunday said that the Syrian-Jordanian joint industrial committee will convene a meeting in Damascus in the middle of September.

The paper added that Jordanian Minister of Trade and Industry Muhammad Saleh al-Hourani will preside over the Jordanian delegation to the meeting. It added that the Syrian minister of the economy and foreign trade will preside over the Syrian side.

The paper said the Jordanian minister is expected to discuss in Damascus means of strengthening economic relations, especially trade ties between Jordan and Syria and means of dissolving obstacles impeding them.

It added that the two sides will discuss the possibility of convening a meeting of the Syrian - Jordanian committee, which has not met in more than two years.
