Originally published

Jordanian and Iraqi delegations next week will start studies on steps to prepare to build an oil pipeline for transferring crude oil from the Iraqi al-Haditha area to the site of the Jordanian oil refinery in al-Zarka city.

The Jordanian daily al-Aswaq (markets) quoted secretary general of the Jordanian Energy Ministry, Ahmad al-Bashir, who will hold the talks in this respect with the Iraqi officials in Baghdad, as saying that talks will tackle in detail practical plans for building a 750-km pipeline at a cost of US $250 million.

Al-Bashir added that the new pipeline will substitute the process of transporting Iraqi oil products by tanks to Jordan. Its capacity will be 150,000 barrels of oil per day.
