A leader of the Mauritanian opposition party "L'union des Forces Democratiques" (UFD), has hailed Morocco's political and democratic experience, marked by the appointment of government led by former opposition figure and socialist premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi.

In a statement to Saudi daily "Asharq Al-Awsat," the UDF leader, Mustafa Ould Badreddine, said "M. Abderrahmane Youssoufi and his party "(Union Socialiste Des Forces Populaires)" are a good model for us."

"We admire the political discourse of M. Abderrahmane Youssoufi despite the fact that we do not agree with him regarding some aspects of his policy," the UDF official said, noting that the situation of his country and its political experience are somewhat different from Morocco's.

Ould Badreddine also affirmed that UDF is one of Mauritania's major opposition political parties favoring dialogue with the government.
