Kuwait releases three Indians cleared of threat to attack US embassy in Manila

Originally published

Kuwaiti security officials assured today that three persons with Indian citizenship were recently released after an investigation found that they had nothing to do with a threatening message found on an Emirate Airlines plane that arrived last Tuesday in Kuwait.

The message contained a threat of an attack on the US embassy in Manila.

The manager of the public relations in the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Bader Saleh, told ArabicNews.com that security forces in Kuwait Airport took the message seriously.

He said the police conducted an expanded investigation of the passengers after which it was found that the three Indians have handwriting similar to that of the message, which was written in English.

He added that experts from the foreign department in the ministry made more accurate tests on the suspects' handwriting, due to which they were excluded from having anything to do with the message, and they were released.
