Peres calls for setting up common market to settle migration problems
Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres has called for setting up a common market between Europe and the Middle East and Africa to help settle immigration problems.
In a speech he delivered on Tuesday before several Spanish businessmen in Andalusia (southern Spain), Peres recalled the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement), which he said helped in the elimination of Mexican emigrants to the US. Peres called for investing "in an atmosphere of political stability."
Later in the day, Peres took part in the celebrations of the Mediterranean cultures institution, which aims at maintaining closeness between cultures of the three religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
