Head of Morocco's parliament visits Russia
A parliamentary source in Morocco confirmed that the head of the Moroccan deputies' council, Abdelouhed Radi, will hold talks with the leaders of Arab, African and foreign parliamentary delegations participating today in the conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Moscow.
The sources told ArabicNews.com that the meetings aim at gathering support for the UN's efforts in relation to the Western Saharan referendum, and reinforcing the Moroccan attitude in favor of a peaceful solution to the issue of the northern Moroccan cities of Sebta and Mellila, which are occupied by Spain.
It is considered the first time Russia has hosted an international conference on this high a level since the Soviet Union collapsed.
The Moroccan official will hold talks with Russian officials tackling cooperation between the two countries.
