Jordan - Turkey to hold military maneuvers
Jordanian sources asserted today that Jordan and Turkey will hold military maneuvers in Jordan, during next April, in which Turkish officers will participate.
The sources told ArabicNews.com that the strategic talks between Turkey and Israel will not be as important if there is strategic cooperation between Turkey and Jordan.
The sources described the talks between Turkey and Israel as a theoretical discussion about the dangers threatening the region, such as terrorism, referring to the participation of the Jordanian in the talks twice before. Turkish Prime Minister Masoud Yilmaz is currently in Israel to discuss the cooperation between the two countries.
The sources also said the relations between these two countries are not directed against Syria or Iraq, but directed to the West. They said the Turks want to take advantage of the Israeli influence in Western circles to either in gaining membership in the European Union or dealing with human rights and the problem of Cyprus.
