Jordanian official calls upon Arabs to be patient over Middle East peace
Former Jordanian prime Minister Abdul Salaam al-Majali has denied that the Middle East peace process is proceeding for the worse, calling upon the Arabs to be patient in this respect.
In a statement to the London-based Al-Aharq Al-Awsat, al-Majali added that what has been achieved so far establishing peace between Egypt and Israel and Jordan and Israel is not a complete peace. It is rather one cornerstone of peace. He added that durable peace should be comprehensive for the Palestinians, the Syrians and the Lebanese.
On his position concerning the US role towards the Middle East peace process, al-Majali added, "We have to blame ourselves as Arabs instead of blaming others." He said the US position sympathizes with the cause of Palestine, but this American stand has "interactions" in the internal policy of the US.
