The Lebanese resistance on Wednesday attacked the Israeli occupation position in Salaa. In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said direct hits were scored against the position.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces continued their attacks against south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said Israeli gunboats roamed the coasts from Naqoura border town to Sidon in south Lebanon, imposing a siege on fishermen who could not sail for more than one kilometer.

Israeli jets carried out mock provocative raids over al-Nabatieh and al-Tuffah district areas. The flights were intercepted by Lebanese army and resistance anti-aircraft missiles.

Israeli warplanes also flew on Wednesday night in the airspace of Baalbek in the Bekaa, eastern Lebanon, where they broke the sound barrier. In the afternoon, Israeli occupation forces bombarded several villages in al-Nabatieh district.

Lebanese security sources said the Israeli heavy artillery targeted Zouter East, Zouter West towns, al-Hamra farm, Arnoun, and Litani river course. The Israeli attacks coincided with machine gun fire against the targeted areas and mock raids over the central sector and al-Nabatieh district. Thermal balloons were dropped in the area.

The occupation forces detained Lebanese citizen Mahdi Hussein Mahdi from al Naqoura border town in South Lebanon and took him to Khiam camp. News reports from south Lebanon said Mahdi works for UNIFIL as a civil servant.

However, the follow-up committee in support of the cause of the Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails received a message from prisoner Samir al-Qintar in which he called for a faster effort to rescue the life of prisoner Yasser Nasrat (Nasrat is from the Palestinian al-Yarmouk camp in Syria, and suffers from kidney problems , now at al-Ramleh hospital) who was arrested in 1989 and sentenced to 25 years imprisonment.
